Axent and Islalink Partner to Provide End‑to‑End Connectivity and Colocation Solutions Linking the Atlantic, Mediterranean, the Balkans, and Central Europe

Madrid, Spain

Axent and Islalink today announced a strategic partnership to provide high-capacity and resilient connectivity services to the wholesale market through their joint South Europe Connectivity & Colocation platform. Leveraging their complementary infrastructure footprints, the two companies will deliver scalable capacity solutions, seamless DC-to-DC connectivity, and colocation services across their combined network ecosystem.

Through this collaboration, customers will benefit from extended geographic reach, diverse routing options, and direct access to critical network hubs. The joint footprint strengthens connectivity between key European, Atlantic, and international markets, enabling carriers, hyperscalers, OTTs, enterprises, and content providers to optimize performance and redundancy.

A central component of the agreement is the interconnection of both companies’ terrestrial and subsea infrastructure to deliver robust data center-to-data center (DC-to-DC) connectivity. Customers will gain secure, low-latency, and fully diverse paths between major data center facilities, supporting cloud interconnection, content distribution, AI workloads, and mission-critical applications.

In addition, the partnership enables colocation services within 4 Cable Landing Stations (CLS) (Crotone, Preveza, Valencia & Palma de Mallorca) and edge data centers across the joint network footprint such as Axent’s data center in Zaragoza or Islalink’s in Madrid (Barajas). By offering colocation at strategic CLS and edge locations, Axent and Islalink provide customers with the ability to deploy equipment closer to subsea cable systems and end users, reducing latency and improving operational efficiency. These facilities are designed to support high-density deployments, diverse power feeds, and secure environments suitable for carriers and infrastructure providers.

The combined portfolio includes high-capacity wavelength services and tailored infrastructure solutions, all backed by carrier-grade SLAs and operational expertise from both organizations.

“We are excited to partner with Islalink to expand our reach and deliver enhanced capacity solutions to the market,” said Gonzalo Pansard, CEO of Axent. “By combining our existing infrastructure with Islalink’s subsea capabilities and international reach, we create a powerful platform that enables seamless DC-to-DC connectivity and strategic colocation at CLS and edge facilities. This partnership reinforces our commitment to delivering scalable, resilient, and future-ready connectivity solutions.”

Esther Garcés, CEO of Islalink, added: “This collaboration with Axent represents a significant step in maximizing the value of our submarine and international presence in 4 countries (Spain, Italy, Greece & Bulgaria). Together, we are providing customers with extended footprint coverage, improved route diversity, and integrated services from subsea landing points to major data center hubs. The ability to offer colocation within our CLS enhances our value proposition and positions us strongly in the evolving wholesale capacity market.”

The partnership is effective immediately, with joint services now available to customers across the shared footprint.
